Am I the only one who thinks Maxwell isn't as bad as he seems?
I mean, he does warn you not to come close to him on Adventure Mode since the darkness will capture you and place you on the thrown he's been in for 20 years! All he had was music to listen to and it's the same one being played over and over again.
Once you reach the throne, he even gives you the option to save him so he won't suffer anymore or to give him some company. Granted, you end up being the next victim if you save him.
He even gives you some items when it's close to Winter and you just started the game.
He really isn't that bad! I personally think it's the shadow creatures that make him look like the bad guy.
He probably wanted to be the next big thing as a magician. There really is no reason to turn over a new leaf and cause harm to others.
What do you guys think? Agree or disagree?

I will have to say, that over time as more and more of his back story was revealed, I can't help but truly feel a bit sympathetic towards the guy. A true definition of a tragic hero.
Now don't get me wrong, what he did to get himself within said situation was entirely his own undoing, and yet he and Charlie didn't really deserve all of this chaos.
None of the characters really did. Each had their own selfishness, greed and desires, that ultimately led them to such a hell hole..... which I am entirely convinced is located somewhere within the north Atlantic ocean, with some Bermuda triangle scenario. People come in, and never come out.
